Saturday Snapshot - Riches

I see the pale winter sky through a bare window.

I hear the beautiful music of guitarist Ottmar Liebert, a song called "Letting Go."  This late in the morning, the children are still sleeping, enjoying the second morning of a very brief mid-winter break from school.

I smell the indulgence of a third cup of steaming black coffee.  I taste the intense flavor of a dark cherry, still slightly frozen and still bursting with  mid-summer freshness.

It is so tempting sometimes to focus on what is bleak and difficult, especially in these gray winter days.  And yet, as I sit here in my quiet house, I feel rich beyond measure.
Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you an abundance of beauty and love in your days.

What a gorgeous blog you have - both words and pictures! I'm so glad Laura gave you the award so I could find you. I'll be back for more.

Deb, Thank you so much! I worry about the quality of my photos a little bit, because I only have a little cell phone camera at this point in time! So thank you, you've reassured me. :)

I'm off to see if you have a blog so I can return your visit!

Ahhhh, the Great Lakes, big as oceans. I love the photo of the shoreline. So serene in the gray of winter, when there are no storms. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.....so nice to meet you.

Your words are always a balm Aisling. I'm listening to the wind and it is a reminder of how tiny and insignificant I am...and yet I feel so blessed.

Laura, Thank you for sharing that thought with me. I LOVE to listen to the wind. What beautiful music nature can give, and how sweet that we can give music back!

Thank you for always leaving such kind comments here to bright my day :)

you have such a lovely way with words... this is a beautiful post...the photo has it's own stark beauty as well, tho it looks very very cold to me, a native CA with little tolerance of the truly cold day....join me anytime in my valley of green. xo

Linda, Thank you. I am VERY ready for that green valley, believe me! It is bitterly cold here today, though we had a couple of days this past week hit the mid 40s! Thank you so much for coming by.

Oh, I love the morning just as you do! Spring is coming soon and won't we appreciate it so very much? That cherry sounds delicious. I hope you get a bit of a rest this long weekend.

Pom Pom, We really will appreciate the spring! :)

It has been a fun relaxing weekend. Just enjoyed a movie at the theater with my eleven year old. Not a lot of extra sleep on this mid-winter break, but LOTS of extra family time. I'll take that over sleep any day!
