Falling

As I sat, elbow-deep in end of semester projects and case-studies and professional development portfolios, snow fell outside.  Not gentle April reminders of winter, but a rather fierce gusty blizzard.  Gray shadows fell through my windows, as I sat at the computer.  I watched night fall over the continent of Africa, on the World Sunlight Map, and marveled at how small the world has become during the years of my life.

Though I am up against deadlines, I found time to slowly brew sweet Turkish coffee in my tidy little kitchen, and to mix up some chocolate almond cookies.   I listened to some favorite Indie bands and enjoyed the sanctuary of home, as nature roared her contrary song outside my windows.

Thank you to my friends, old and new, who have checked in on my here during my quiet spell.  I am hoping to post more frequently... just a few days left in this seemingly endless semester!

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you joy.

I was just thinking of you the other day, wondering if you still host a Sunday Stroll.

I've gotten so far behind in my blog reading...and now I've found your little online home listed among my "referring sites."

I'm honored to be part of your blogroll. And look forward to visiting again. :)

Always my best,
Jessica

Hello dear Aisling!
What a perfect and poetic post. I am sure you are learning up a storm as you complete your course work. I am going to teach sixth grade next year. I am so thankful that they honored my request. It will be fun to plan and create for eleven and twelve year old kids, I think! Your lake is so serene and lovely. Thank you for a glimpse.

Jessica, Thank you for coming by! I try to keep up with you and your homeschooling days. It brings back fond memories of when I homeschooled my daughters, now 18 and 21!! Those are beautiful memories, and your days seem as sweet and peaceful as I remember.

Pom Pom, 6th grade will be fun! I will be student teaching in 3rd grade next year. I have two semesters of practicum through my university. It will be interesting to contrast 3rd grade to 1st! Enjoy your preparations!

Thank you for commenting on my lake picture. My daughter and I were hiking, then as we stepped out of the woods and crested a sandy hill, all this beauty was sparkling before us. I love it's serenity and shine. I love to sort of soak it up into my soul!

I'm interested in the Turkish coffee. tell me more, please! I read about it in books but don't know a thing. Also, what are the indie bands you are listening to? I'm happy to hear from you.
